LABORATOIRE DE VARENNES
As an integral part of Pavages Varennes and Tech-Mix production sites, this laboratory does the analysis of aggregates, bagged finished products and bituminous concrete. Like Laboratoire central, the Varennes laboratory promotes BAUVAL’s mission by guaranteeing the quality of the various products provided and by actively contributing to R&D.
This laboratory’s mandate is to constantly improve the preparation and characteristics of the products developed by BAUVAL’s two divisions. It plays an essential role in the development of procedures and reduced energy-consuming products that positively impact air emissions reduction.
BAUVAL distinguishes itself by producing products from recovered and recycled materials such as steel slags, demolition concrete and mineral materials.
Since 1995, the laboratory has been endeavouring to prepare bituminous concrete that responds to new problematics encountered by the urban and rural road networks (Smart-Mix and Hi-Tech asphalt mix). This research resulted in a major technological breakthrough that can prevent degradation of the network and improve the efficiency of maintenance work.
